About Us

Didac Limited has been a Training Provider since June 1997 when the Company was founded and an approved Apprentice Training Provider with TEC's since August 1998, but the expertise and experience of the Trainers goes back much further.

Jon Gibson, Didac’s Managing Director has been through an Apprenticeship Scheme, then after working in industry became a lecturer at Brunel College in Bristol from 1989 to 1995.

Didac’s Training Director, Colin Jones has also been through a full Apprenticeship Scheme, followed by working in a number of companies before becoming a lecturer at Brunel College from 1980 to 1997.

The Companies Secretary and Director, Martin James also has many years of experience within the sector, working within the industry and then with Rye Machinery.

There are a further eight assessor/trainers who work in the areas of Furniture Skills, Fork Lift Training, Machine Woodworking, Sawmilling, Bench Joinery, Manual Handling, Health & Safety and Learning and Development. They in turn have significant experience in the sector and they all follow the standards and procedures laid down by the Company to ensure consistency across all disciplines.

There are two members of staff in administration looking after the day to day running of the systems.

Initially the company provided training services to CNC machine users. Having achieved a satisfactory base in this area the company expanded its operations to cover a wide range of training and consultancy services.

Didac has firmly established itself as a leading supplier of training and consultancy services with a firm financial footing. The management team are confident that the quality of services we are providing to an increasing client base will go from strength to strength.

The company welcomes close working relationships with a number of organisations including Business Links, Trade Associations, Machine and Tooling Manufacturers.

In July 2000, Didac successfully achieved the Investors In People Award, this was renewed in 2003.

In July 2003, Didac were inspected by an independent body, The Adult Learning Inspectorate who are responsible for ensure the quality of provision within Work Based Learning. As a result, Didac gained one of the best inspections within the country.

October 2004, was the Woodmex 2004 Exhibition at the NEC. Once again, Didac was responsible for organising and running the Apprentice Stand at the show. Jon Gibson was also responsible for the Health & Safety of the Exhibition. For the first time, the WMSA ran a number of health & safety workshops at the show, delivered by Jon Gibson.

July 2006, Didac were again inspected by the ALI. Another postive inspection was achieved.

In September 2006, Didac exhibited at the newly formed exhibition THE TIMBER SHOW held at Excel in London. Jon assumed the role of Health and Safety for the show

October 2006, saw W6 (previously known as Woodmex). Again, Jon took on the Health & Safety Role with Colin and Ray looking after the newly formed, Apprentice Competition Stand.
