
Abrasive Wheel Training
Courses aimed at employees with a need to safely use and change abrasive wheels, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
All courses are tailored to the requirements of their business needs.
Legal Requirements
Under current legislation, including PUWER 98, all employees involved in the use of abrasive wheels are required to have received suitable and sufficient training, authorised in writing.
Training is to be refreshed every three / five years as stated by the HSE.
Your course will include
- identification of abrasive wheels
- types of abrasive wheels
- storage requirements
- dressing of abrasive wheels
- personal protective equipment
- basic use, including hazard awareness and safe operating practices
Qualifications
- Woodwise Certificate of Training
Duration
- 1/2 day for up to 3 people

Progression can include the following:
- City & Guilds Certificate - Safe Use of Woodworking Machinery (Assessment of Competence)
