
Machine Woodworking - Woodwise Training
Courses aimed at businesses with a need to train employees using individual or more woodworking machines, allowing a modular approach.
All courses are tailored to the requirements of their business needs.
Legal Requirements
Regulation 9, The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations require every employer to ensure that all employees who use work equipment have received suitable and sufficient training.
This training is to be refreshed every three / five years as stated by the HSE.
Your course will include
- selection of most suitable machine
- selection and setting of guards
- selection and setting of tooling
- safe setting and using of machine
- use of safety devices
- legal requirements
- productivity improvement
Training can include all classical woodworking machines such as saws, planers and moulders. Other machines such as CNC and non standard machines can be delivered by prior agreement.

- Woodwise Certificate of Training
Duration
- Determined by the number of staff and their current level of competence.
- Typically 1 day or more
Progression:
Progression can include the following:
- City & Guilds Certificate in the Safe Use of Woodworking Machinery
- NVQ in Machine Woodworking
