
Portable Power Tools
Aimed at businesses with a requirement to ensure that staff are correctly and safely trained in the use of Power Hand Tools, whether powered by battery, electrical or pneumatic systems.
All courses are tailored to the requirements of their business needs.
Legal Requirements
Regulation 9 (1) of PUWER. Every employer shall ensure that all staff who use Work Equipment have received training for purposes of health and safety. This includes training in the methods which may be adopted when using the work equipment, the dangers associated with it and precautions to reduce the risks.
Training is to be refreshed every three / five years as stated by the HSE.
Your course will include

- work environment
- inspection and condition of equipment
- guarding and safe operation
- PPE requirements
- wider operational hazards

- Woodwise Certificate of Training
Duration
- 1 to 2 days, up to 3 staff per group
Progression:
Progression can include the following:
- City & Guilds - Certificate in the Safe Use of Portable Power Tools
Equipment:
- saws, planers, routers, drills, nail guns etc
