25/11/2011 - BMF Training take over
Wood Training Specialists Didac Announced as Training Division of BMF
Bristol based Didac Limited, the wood industry training specialist is delighted to announce that it has secured a partnership with the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) to manage the apprentice training division.
The partnership between Didac Ltd. and the BMF will ensure a greater diversity of courses, additional funding streams, and a raft of industrial and process training courses all of which will become available to BMF members. In addition, the management training skills programmes, previously delivered to builders merchants only will be rolled out across the whole of the woodworking sector.
The six-strong BMF apprenticeship team, including Nina Royle, Apprenticeship Manager have transferred to Didac, ensuring that the learners currently on BMF courses will be unaffected by the changes.
Martin James, Commercial Director of Didac Ltd. commented:
‘This is an excellent move that will increase the amount of government funded training available to employers across the woodworking, furniture and builders merchants sector. It will enable Didac Ltd. to continue expanding its team of assessors throughout the UK, which in turn will help sustain government funding for some training programmes, which might otherwise have disappeared.’
Terry Parker, Chairman of the Builders Merchant Federation explains:
‘The Board exercised a great deal of care in selecting a partner which really understood the needs of the industry and Didac already has an excellent reputation. We share a common vision to ensure specialist industry sectors like merchanting and sawmilling don’t get overlooked when it comes to allocating resources.’
