Latest machinery accident statistics from the HSE show increase of injuries.
The latest accident statistics from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) show a worrying increase in the number of individuals injured by moving machinery in the wood industry. Although the figures below have not been audited and finalised, here are the headline increases.
· 16 - 18 accidents have increased from 17 to 31
· 31 - 40 accidents have increased from 62 to 81
(These figures are subject to change)

The HSE state that refresher training MUST take place every 3 to 5 years, but often individuals have had no training at all.
