IOSH WORKING SAFELY

Course dates:

·         THURSDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER 2010

Cost – £175 per person + certification and exam fees

Duration – 1 day - Assessment Method: Written and Practical Assessments

OUTLINE PROGRAMME:  This qualification is designed for all employees and covers the following topics: An introduction to working safely, Defining hazard and risk, Identifying common hazards, Improving safety performance and Protecting the environment.

For delegates who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments, there is a choice of accreditation, either an IOSH Working Safely certificate or an IOSH passport card.

OUTLINE PROGRAMME:  This qualification is designed for managers and supervisors and covers the following topics: An introduction to managing safely, Assessing risks, Controlling risks, Understanding your responsibilities, Identifying hazards, Investigating accidents and incidents, Measuring performance and Protecting the environment.

CIEH LEVEL 2 HEALTH & SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE

Course dates:

·         FRIDAY 8TH OCTOBER 2010

Cost – £75 per person + certification and exam fees

Duration – 1 day - Assessment Method: Multi Choice Test

OUTLINE PROGRAMME:   This qualification is designed for all employees and covers the following topics:  Legislation, Health, Safety, Welfare, The Workplace and Workplace Equipment, Risk Assessment, Manual Handling, Hazardous Substances, Ergonomics and Workstation Design, Transport and Vehicles, Noise and Vibration.

CIEH LEVEL 2 PRINCIPLES OF MANUAL HANDLING

Course dates:

·         THURSDAY 12TH AUGUST 2010

            MONDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 2010

Cost – £59 per person + certification and exam fees

Duration – 3 hours - Assessment Method: Multi Choice Test

OUTLINE PROGRAMME:  This qualification is designed for all employees and covers the following topics: The process of manual handling in the workplace, Manual handling injuries and the activities which cause them, Manual handling assessment and control options, Responsibilities imposed by the Manual Handling Operations Regulations, Influence and keep pace with improvements in health and safety practice.

CIEH LEVEL 2 PRINCIPLES & PRACTICE OF MANUAL HANDLING

Course dates:

·         THURSDAY 12TH AUGUST 2010

      MONDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 2010

Cost – £149 per person + certification and exam fees (Can only be taken in conjunction with CIEH Level 2 Principles of Manual Handling)

Duration – 3 ½ hours - Assessment Method: Practical Assessment

OUTLINE PROGRAMME:  This qualification is designed for all employees, but more specifically Supervisors, in house trainers and those with responsibility for carrying out risk assessment.

Following on from the Principles of manual handling, this forms part two of the manual handling programme and covers the following manual handling techniques: Lifting loads from low levels, Working at low levels, Lowering from height, Pushing loads, Pulling loads, Carrying and Team handling.

REVIEW HEALTH & SAFETY PROCEDURES IN WORKPLACES - (HSS8)

Course dates:

·         WEDNESDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER 2010

Cost – £225 per person

Duration – 6 ½ hours - Assessment method: candidates will produce evidence from their working environment, and submit this Portfolio for assessment.

OUTLINE PROGRAMME:  Unit HSS8 is specifically designed for people required to review health and safety conditions in workplaces other than their own. The Unit is about preparing to carry out a review of Health and Safety procedures of a specified workplace to meet established procedures and carrying out a review to check if relevant mandatory health, safety and welfare requirements are being implemented, and reporting and recording the findings of such reviews in accordance with agreed procedures.

INVESTIGATE AND EVALUATE HEALTH & SAFETY INCIDENTS AND COMPLAINTS IN THE WORKPLACE - (HSS5)

Course dates:

·         FRIDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER 2010

Cost – £225 per person

Duration – 6 ½ hours - Assessment method: candidates will produce evidence from their working environment, and submit this Portfolio for assessment.

OUTLINE PROGRAMME:  Unit is HSS5 is designed for people who are responsible for investigating incidents and complaints involving health and safety in the workplace, evaluating them and making recommendations as a result of these investigations. This unit is about: Investigating incidents and health and safety complaints and reporting on the findings of the investigation in line with statutory and organisational requirements and Making recommendations for improving health and safety in the workplace.
